Our client, one of Vancouver’s highest rated law firms, is looking for a Corporate Legal Assistant to join our Corporate practice in Vancouver. This role is ideal for an assistant early in their legal career who is eager to deepen their corporate experience, gain exposure to a range of transactions, and grow within a collaborative, professional law-firm environment.

The Role

In this position, you will work closely with Corporate Legal Assistants, Paralegals, and lawyers, providing flexible support across the group. The role offers variety, hands-on learning, and increasing responsibility over time, making it well suited to someone looking to continue developing their corporate skill set.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing vacation and sick-leave coverage within the Corporate group
  • Supporting Corporate Legal Assistants and Paralegals with workflow overflow, project work, and time-sensitive tasks
  • Conducting BC Online and other corporate registry searches
  • Assisting with transaction closings, including document organization, scanning, and filing
  • Managing calendars, coordinating meetings, and assisting with travel arrangements
  • Assisting with client billings, invoice preparation, and account correspondence
  • Preparing and processing expense reports
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date client and contact information
  • Liaising with lawyers and internal staff across practice groups and offices
  • Handling confidential information with discretion and professionalism

Qualifications & Experience

  • Legal Assistant Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution
  • 1–3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant in a law-firm environment
  • Exposure to corporate and/or real estate matters is an asset, but not required
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office and legal document systems
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail, proofreading, and formatting skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Service-oriented, dependable, and adaptable with a strong work ethic
  • Eager to learn, receptive to feedback, and comfortable taking on new responsibilities
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a collaborative Corporate team
  • Demonstrated professionalism and commitment to confidentiality
