Litigation Lawyer – Civil, Family & Foreclosure | Greater Vancouver

RJOHNSON Legal Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Litigation Lawyer to join a growing and well-established law firm in the Greater Vancouver area.

This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer with a minimum of 3 years’ call who enjoys managing a diverse litigation practice, with a particular emphasis on civil litigation, family law, and foreclosure matters.

• Mandarin language skills would be a strong asset, particularly when communicating with Chinese-speaking clients.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work independently, handle meaningful files, and contribute to the continued growth of a collaborative legal team.

The Role

• Manage a varied caseload involving civil litigation, family law, foreclosure proceedings, and related real estate disputes.
• Handle foreclosure matters, including court applications, mortgage enforcement, and related proceedings.
• Draft pleadings, affidavits, applications, written submissions, and other litigation documents.
• Attend chambers applications, contested hearings, and other BC Supreme Court proceedings.
• Conduct legal research, develop litigation strategies, and provide practical legal advice.
• Participate in settlement negotiations, mediations, and trial preparation.
• Manage files independently while ensuring compliance with court deadlines and procedural requirements.
• Maintain strong client relationships and provide clear, timely communication throughout the litigation process.
• Work collaboratively with lawyers, legal assistants, and other members of the firm.

Qualifications

• Member in good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia.
• Minimum 3 years’ call to the BC Bar, with experience in civil litigation and family law.
• Practical experience handling foreclosure proceedings and related litigation.
• Strong drafting, advocacy, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Experience appearing before the BC Supreme Court, including chambers applications.
• Ability to independently manage multiple files and competing deadlines.
• Excellent organizational skills, professional judgment, and attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal and client communication skills.
• Experience with mortgage enforcement, debt recovery, or secured lending disputes would be an asset.
